What is the difference between MSI motherboard and ASUS motherboard?

To Computer Experts, i heard that the perfect combination for intel core 2 duo is MSI MOBO P7N SLI Platinum. MSI mobo is phase out now, ASUS mobo on sales today. What is the difference?

1. Instead of MSI being printed on the main board ASUS will be printed on it. Its all a matter of opinion. Generally, go for the main board with better specifications.
2. They are made by different companies, like colgate and pepsodent.
