- it really depends on what other hardware you have: - pcie or agp graphics card? - how many pci slots do you need? a lot of cheaper ones only have two or three pci slots which isn't enough for some people - etc... i would recommend either asus or gigabyte.
- A P35 chipset is good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059 This board supports Dual and Quad 45nm Wolfdale and YorkField CPUs. It doesn't have firewire of eSATA but you can buy an addon card if you really want - it is also not SLI. Oh, this is only for Intel Only (775 socket). For AMD, 780G chipset http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128090 It has an onboard Radeon 3200HD that will also work as a hybrid crossfire if you get a discrete ATI card (really cool).
