  1. I assume you mean Intel Core 2 duo. Yes they are a bit more powerful than dual pentiums, assuming clock speeds are the same. Pentiums are older technology
  2. the I3 , I5 and I7 are the latest ones much better than a dual core if you need help picking a PC or CPU's ask me here http://www.pchelphq.com
  3. Intel Core 2 Duo is better than Intel Penitum Dual Core. The newest ones are the i3, i5, and i7.
  4. i have an intel duo core and the guy told me that intel dual core has copy of the original core in print along with the original core. i bought an intel dual core cpu chip for, i think it was only 50 bucks and a mother board for the chip was only aound sixty bucks. i just swapped my old motherboard for this one. saved me a couple hundred bucks
  5. Yes core duos (now core 2 duo) is usually faster than the pentium dual cores, and they have more cache and also run a lot cooler than the pentium dual cores. There is also the new nehelam processers, which i believe are beter than the core2duos (as you would expect), i havnt tired any of them out yet , i will do in due course...when i have the money to get one lol
  6. the dual core means that the chip has two cores which is uses where are core 2 duo has two separate cores which means there is less stress on the chip and as a result it runs faster and smoother
  7. ok the intel corp has a little problem in that it has to keep selling processors to keep the money rolling in, and to do that they have to keep re-inventing the wheel to which the older processor dies are then seen as no longer fast enough so they invented a way to make it seem that more than one function could be processed after the decoding state to speed up overall processing speeds this is the basis for the marketing hype of dual core, or the re-badged core2duo in practise the only thing that would really be faster would be the FLOPS rate or clock speed which in layman's terms is the speed in which the samples per second are calculated. in practise the older pentium is just given a make over and given the dual core treatment the same way that celeron was or AMDs sempron and athlon and turion chips its a tool to make you think that silly number and TV ads means that some great evolution in CPUs is under way, but it actually arrives at clock speed and subtle aspects of the way that the CPU address the data and the way such data is transported on chip to and from the RAM. so to find out have a look on line for the architecture and the comparisons of the CPUs then look at the incidental aspects of the circuits which on comparison the CPUs are not that much different. the latest guise of supposed super chips are i3,i5,and i7 again the elongation of the decode/process and millions of more transistors that are wired together with a new smaller chip epitaxy at 22Nm or 45Nm is not an innovation and its not the caset that making something smaller will make for a better product so they decided that green features would be case even thou that CPUs and most electronics only use micro volts or mA in use.
