  1. check the socket 757 or 939 etc
  2. You would have to ask someone (where you buy it) what processor goes with it. There are specifics to this category, and the perfect person to give them to you would be the person you bought it from.
  3. the motherboard will tell you the chipset it will accept. you just have to get a processor with that chipset.
  4. Well, look at the motherboard whether its support the processor slot. for example : Intel G915GEV support LGA775 processor slot.
  5. first is the processor type whether intel or amd next is the socket type, usually lga775 for intel, am2 for amd then you also need to know the allowed FSB and match them all to the processor.
  6. you should know the socket type.. and you should also know if its an AMD or Intel processor.. they have different sockets.. latest socket of intel is lga775, amd is am2..(well i dont know if it still is) on intel, you should also know if the motherboard works on a single core, dual core, core2duo or quad core processor..
  7. look , there r many conflicts related to ur question.......... first make ur choice out of 'intel' or 'amd' processor....... after that see which kind of processor u want.............. after that there u can go to 'asus' website and check the processor compatibilty with ur motherboard model ........... i m sure it will help u ........ good luck.............
  8. You can go to NewEgg.com find a Mother Board check and see what processor will fit or if there is a Processor you want just look for what mother board works Go to new egg type in the search for processor chose the price or by performance say you want to go cheap so you want a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor you will notice it says socket AM2 that is what you look for in mother board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103212 For a mother board go to search and type mother board select amd mother boards select the Am2 socket type on the advance search box on the left side then you can find your motherboard this is long way for Beginners but is is fun you can even save wish lists Hope this helps
