What is difference between Intel Pentium and AMD Turion when purchasing a laptop?

What is difference between Intel Pentium and AMD Turion when purchasing a laptop? Will it matter for some programs that say require at least a pentium II?

1. They are both single-core processors, and the difference is who makes them. If you don't know about the differences, they won't matter to you, and it should not make a difference between intel and AMD.
2. won't really matter, but i recommend a macbook as a laptop much better as laptops than pc's. I'm a pc fan for the big CPU, but for laptops macbooks are #1, because pc laptops are nice once you get them, but after about 2 month of use they start to slow down and suck and other problems, plud with macs never have to worry about friends dling stuff and using flash drives and trying to get virsus, because macs dont get virsus's. 3. AMD is usually cheaper and less powerful than Intel. They are both competitive companies.
