- Decent, thats about what I'm typing on now. That processor has 2 megs of cache so its pretty quick. I wouldnt pay over 200 for it though.
- I think its perfect if youre not planning on doing anything heavy on it. It will play movies with ease, word shouldnt be a problem, and its overqualified for web surfing =P Its a great budget laptop.
- its not to bad if your just gonna watch movies and type stuff. 2-3 gigs of ram is usually normal nowadays maybe even four. the hard drive is a bit small. i see many hard drives that are well over 100 gigs, but memory inst that important if your laptop isnt gonna be heavily used. the laptop your lookn at prob cost like 200-300 bucks my guess.
- Hi! To tell you the truth. For today's standards you should get at least a Core 2 Duo. 512mb of ram and only 1.6ghz is not adequate enough for the future. But as of today, if you just want to do word processing and web surfing it should be good enough. If you plan on doing anything more (watching movies, watching higher quality video streams) I suggest an Intel Core 2 Duo and about 1 gig of ram. Many netbooks these days are more powerful than the specs you have listed and start at only about 300 dollars. Correct me if i am wrong but the Toshiba Portege M200 was introduced in 2004 making it 5 years old. It will soon become obsolete. If you are looking for a cost effective system i suggest a netbook! Such as the eee pc, msi wind, or the acer aspire one. I hope it helps =[
