Can I swap Dell Inspiron 530 with a Pentium Quad Core Q6600 with a Intel Pentium E2180 CPU.?
I will be giving this pc to my sister but want to keep the Q6600 cpu for a pc I will build. I want to install a Pentium E2180 that I bought into the Inspiron 530 PC. Will it work?

- It should work. They are both socket 775 processors so it will fit. The Q6600 has a front side bus of 1066, and the E2180 is 800. The motherboard should support the lower fsb, but you may have to adjust this in the bios first. Also, the operating voltages are the same.
