I am trying to decide whether I should pay the extra for the Core 2 Duo but I am unsure of the actual difference in performance since the comparison sites I can find don't compare these two processors, Intel's site compares some models but only those much more widely different. Both processors are dual core.

Does anyone know how to take apart an original intel pentium cpu? I recently took apart an old windows 95 I had in my basement. I tore that thing apart and was able to get the motherboard out. I removed the actual pentium cpu and want to know if there is some relatively easy way of taking apart the actual cpu with hand tools. The computer is trashed anyway. I probably destroyed any chance of using the cpu. I just want to see inside without smashing it with a hammer or anything.
